Winter has arrived and that means there aren’t many options for fun with the kids. Your three choices are to stay indoors, load up with a bunch of snow gear and head outside, or take them to an indoor fun spot. Thankfully, there are plenty of locations in the Wakefield, Rhode Island area where you can enjoy the latter. Don’t stay cooped up indoors all winter and take your kids to one of these four awesome indoor fun zones for kids.
1. Launch Trampoline Park
One way to let your kids have some indoor fun this winter is to take them to Launch Trampoline Park. There are several great activities that will keep your kids smiling from ear-to-ear the entire time. Of course, there are lots of trampolines at Launch Trampoline Park. In addition to a huge Trampoline court, you can play some trampoline basketball, jump into a giant foam pit, or even launch yourself at a giant airbag. The opportunities for fun are endless.
The park has an indoor trampoline dodge ball court that’s sure to be an exciting time. The park also includes a rock climbing zone with multiple difficulties available. The battle pit is a balance beam suspended above a foam pit where two warriors enter and only one emerges. Use a foam weapon to try to knock your opponent into the foam pit without falling in yourself. Laser tag is also available at Launch Trampoline Park.
There’s a small restaurant inside as well where you can create your own pizza, salad, dessert pizza, or ice cream sundae. Toppings are unlimited.
2. Providence Children’s Museum
There’s plenty of fun, hands-on activities at the Providence Children’s Museum that will stimulate and educate young and growing minds. Through several unique, interesting, hands-on exhibits, kids will learn about science, math, and engineering all while having the time of their lives. The recommended age range is for children ages 1-11.
3. R1 Indoor Karting
Leave it all out on the track at R1 Indoor Karting. This indoor go-kart racetrack is bound to be a hit with everyone old enough to drive a kart. Riders must be at least 6 years old and meet specific height requirements. There are three-speed levels available, each tied to different height or age restrictions. R1 Indoor Karting also has a bowling alley, restaurant, and billiards area to enjoy while you’re there.
4. Alley Katz Bowling
Another great indoor experience to check out this winter is Alley Katz Bowling. This gem located in the Southwestern portion of Rhode Island is your one-stop place to go for bowling fun. It features several leagues for people of all skill levels, and plenty of special events to check out as well. They’re always adding something new at Alley Katz, so don’t hesitate to go check it out and have some fun.
