Trim Levels (Exterior)
With five trim levels to choose from, you're sure to find a Mazda CX-5 that suits you perfectly. The trim levels are Sport, Touring, Grand Touring, Grand Touring Reserve, and Signature, and each one builds onto or adds to the features of the previous one. When you opt for the base trim, you'll get LED headlights with an auto-leveling feature, automatic rain-sensing windshield wipers, dual exhaust outlets with a bright finish, and a roof-mounted shark fin antenna. As you move through the trim levels, you can gain features such as a rear power liftgate, a windshield wiper de-icer, LED fog lights, and an adaptive front lighting system.
Engine (Power)
Two engines are available for the 2020 Mazda CX-5, so you can choose the amount of power you want from your SUV. The first option is a SKYACTIV®-G 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with cylinder deactivation. This engine produces 187 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque. In the top two trims, you get a SKYACTIV®-G 2.5-liter dynamic pressure turbo four-cylinder engine that delivers 227 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. If you put 93 octane fuel in the gas tank, this motor is capable of putting out 250 horsepower and 320 pound-feet of torque.
Performance
Front-wheel drive comes standard on every trim level, but you can upgrade to i-ACTIV AWD® if you want more control over your driving experience. This system will monitor your driving to provide power to the wheels that need it most without the need for you to do anything. For smooth shifting between gears, the engine is paired to a SKYACTIV®-Drive six-speed automatic transmission. This transmission features both manual-shift and sport modes for improved throttle response.
Interior
Once you take your place behind the wheel, you might not want to leave, thanks to this SUV's driver-focused interior. It has ample space for five passengers, and the 40/20/40 split fold-down and reclining rear seat makes it easy to store your gear. A leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear shifter are standard for all trims, but to get leather-trimmed seats, you'll have to go with one of the upper trims. For ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, genuine layered wood trim, and a black cloth headliner, choose the Signature trim level.
